Scholarship Opportunities in Law at Queensland University for the Year 2024 in Australia

This partially funded scholarship is designed for international students pursuing Bachelor and Masters in Law studies, offering financial support valued at 25% or 50% of the laws component of the Master's degree program.


The esteemed School of Law at the University of Queensland is extending these scholarships to outstanding international students seeking admission into coursework Masters programs in law, including the Master of Laws (LLM), the Master of International Law (MIL), and the Master of International Commercial Law (MICLaw), as well as dual degree programs.


Founded in 1909 by the state parliament, the University of Queensland (UQ) stands as Australia’s fifth oldest university, renowned for its position as one of the country's leading institutions and a globally reputable university. The primary purpose of the scholarship is to encourage and support academic excellence in international students commencing undergraduate studies in Law at the University of Queensland.


In collaboration with the School of Economics and UQ Foundation, a close working relationship has been cultivated over the years, witnessing a growing number of international students opting to pursue an economics degree at UQ post their Foundation studies. Recognizing the significance of economics in fostering critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and strong analytical tools applicable to various business environments and industries, students are drawn to the long-term career opportunities offered by this field.


Scholarship Summary:

- Level of Study: Undergraduate / Masters

- Opportunity Focus Areas: Bachelor of Laws (Honours) or associated dual degree programs at The University of Queensland, the Master of Laws (LLM), the Master of International Law (MIL), the Master of International Commercial Law (MICLaw), and dual degree programs.

- Program Period: Four years for Undergraduate, Two years for Masters.

- Deadline: Closing date for students commencing in Semester 1 is 30 October, closing date for students commencing in Semester 2 is 15 May.


Scholarship Coverage:

- Two scholarships for undergraduate.

- Four scholarships on offer; two covering 50% of the tuition fees and two covering 25% of the tuition fees for courses undertaken towards the specified Master's programs.


Note: The scholarship does not cover living expenses, travel expenses, overseas health cover, or the Student Services and Amenities fee.


Eligibility Criteria for Queensland University Law Scholarship:

To qualify for the Queensland University Law Scholarship for International Students, candidates must fulfill the specified requirements.


How to Apply for Queensland University Law Scholarship:

1. Apply to study at UQ, specifically for the LLM, MIL, MICLaw, or dual degree programs.

2. Once an existing application with UQ is in place or an offer has been received, apply for the scholarship by submitting the online application form along with the required supporting documentation:

   - Official academic transcript/s

   - Two reference letters

   - Resume/CV


Please note:

- Incomplete or late scholarship applications will not be considered.

- The Scholarship Committee will meet promptly after the closing date, and applicants will be notified of the outcome in writing.

- Any scholarship offer is contingent upon the approval of the candidate’s enrollment in an approved law program at The University of Queensland.
